History
On October 8, 1979, the Trustees approved the purchase of what was then known as the Stone-Phillips property from Ruth Eloise Stone Bass and Mary Jo Stone Mann. On the 3.18-acre plot located across Henderson Street from the South Campus were four houses, including 1021 Henderson Street. Formerly the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Stone, it became the home of Col. and Mrs. Rutger of the Henderson ROTC. By the 1990s, the house was the Central Duplicating office. The College eventually razed it to create a faculty/staff parking lot.
