History

In 1971, the College located a Ceramics and Sculpture Studio near the Physical Plant that faces east on Highway 67. The Studio was the last major building constructed on the tract. In April, 1977, Louise Galbraith Dierks of Hot Springs, an H.S.T.C. Art major, Class of 1963, donated $3,500 to the Art Department for a Bronze Casting Foundry, including tools and equipment. Although included in the original plans for the Studio, the Foundry had to be deleted at the time of the Studio's construction because of the lack of funds.
