History
history:
On April 1, 1902, Rev. W. F. Evans purchased the south third of Block Number 1 in the Maddox Addition to Arkadelphia. On March 2, 1903, Evans, who had erected a two-story frame house on the lot, sold the property to Lelia L. Jones for $2,250. This building became the Boys' Home dormitory. On September 24, 1903, the Southern Standard reported that “the boys' dormitory is full.” This house later became a President’s Home, a Senior Girls’ Home, a home for Academy girls, and finally a boys’ dormitory again before finally being destroyed in a fire.
In 1934, the College constructed new tennis courts on this site.
