History
With funds available from WPA for the construction of Haygood Stadium, the College decided to change its request for a “dressing room” to a modern field house to be built on the southwest corner of the field. However, because of a shortage of brick layers, officials of the Works Progress Administration would not predict when work on the $8,000 structure would be completed; it was finished in early 1937. A red brick veneer similar in architectural style to the other buildings on the campus, the Field House contained “a shower room, dressing rooms, lockers, storage rooms, a reception room, and other conveniences.” It filled "the long felt need of an adequate dressing room and general utility house for athletics."
