History

In October, 1976, the football dressing room on the old Haygood Field, northwest of the Panhellenic House, was designated as the “new” I.F.C. House, after appropriate remodeling of the building. The previous House had burned down earlier that year. By March, 1977, the new I.F.C. House was ready for use.

The renovated building contained eight offices for campus fraternities in addition to two large meeting rooms. The walls had new paneling; and the plumbing had been completely reworked. The new House had carpeted lounges and entryways; it had been repainted inside and out. For use of the House, each fraternity paid $50 per semester, which was deposited in a special bank account in the Council's name.
