Iron Fence

Installed in the spring of 1903, the iron picket fence enclosed the front campus, replacing the board fence built in 1892. Purchased from the Enterprise Foundry and Fence Company, the iron fence cost $992, with $709 paid in cash and the balance financed by notes. The Trustees paid A. D. Roberts $120 to install the iron fence. Roses planted along the fenceline in 1927 were a Henderson landmark for decades.
