History
In October, 1938, six new concrete pillars to support lights connected to an underground cable enhanced the front entrance to the campus on Henderson Street. The new lights replaced the old ones with “the ugly and badly constructed wires ... strewn down the front walk in the past years.” Two pillars flanked the entrance steps of College Hall and four were “arranged in a stag run from the steps on Henderson Street to the entrance steps”.
