History

Since 1949, the Caddo Center had been the place to eat for Henderson students. However, as attendance increased over the decades, the 350-seat cafeteria became increasingly cramped. The uncomfortable space and deteriorating conditions of the old cafeteria made it apparent that a new one would need to be constructed.

In 2013, the College completed the construction of a new 20,000 square foot, 4.69 million dollar building on the previous site of Oaks Hall, just south of East and West Halls near the ravine. The new cafeteria is in design, with overhead light fixtures, modern tables and chairs, and new appliances. With seating for over 600 people, the large space meets current needs while accommodating potential future growth. The cafeteria staff also have more room for food preparation and storage.
